Now wipe that image away.
Last week at Focus 100, black women that serve as Founders and CEOs of tech companies, tech venture investors, and others just interested in technology, came together for the most diverse tech conference ever.
Hosted by Kathryn Finney, Founder and Managing Director of Digital Undivided (DID), and the Digital Undivided team, Focus 100 brings together, inspires, motivates, and initiates conversations and action plans to help minority communities, especially black women, take a stance and be key innovators in the tech world.
Finney fervently works for the inclusion of minorities, especially women, in technology and was recently named by the White House as a "Champion of Change for Tech Inclusion" because of these efforts.
Digital Undivided, via the Focus 100 Conference, is vested in recreating the image associated with technology. It’s not just the stereotypical young, white, and male demographic, but now the young, middle-aged, and matured black women that are committed to building community and becoming successful in the technology space.
Our very own Cheryl Contee is honored to serve on the advisory board of Focus 100 and believes in the power of diversity that’s able to drive a nation’s rise. She also spoke at Focus 100 in 2012 and at START Atlanta for emerging technologists.
Focus 100 conference speakers included hip-hop mogul MC Hammer, Issa Rae, Monif Clark, and Heather Hiles and leading companies included Facebook, Microsoft, and American Express.
