I was pleased to join a great panel of fellow bloggers (2 right, 2 left, guys vs gals) in advance of President Obama's first State of the Union address. All the bloggers used Skype to participate which was apparently a first for CNN. CNN.com's Reggie Aqui wanted to talk about what people were saying about the speech. The appearence was concurrent on CNN.com/live which has a really cool new feature that auto-connects everyone else who's watching who's also on Facebook with a status chat window.

Fellow co-founder at JackandJillPolitics.com, Baratunde Thurston AKA Jack, has also recently appeared on MSNBC twice around the New York Post Chimp Cartoon controversy. During the 2009 Inauguration, both of us appeared (among other radio and TV appearances that weekend) on BBC's popular radio program "World Have Your Say" which is a true co-creation with listeners -- taking questions from viewers via text message, blog comment, twitter, email, IM and phone. We were told by BBC's producers that over 30 million people worldwide tune in for World Have Your Say and host/community manager/secret superstar Ros Atkins. It just shows the organic convergence of media and ordinary people to tell a story using an increasingly fluid combination of blogs/radio/SMS/print/online media/tv/online video...
