Mixergy Says We've Got "the ideal job"
Posted by Roz Lemieux on July 13, 2010
Recently, Andrew Warner interviewed me for Mixergy.com -- a terrific site full of entrepreneur interviews designed to "infect you with a passion for business and then help you build your business". At one point, he reminded me how lucky I (and my fellow Fissioneers) are:
"I’ve got to tell you. For many people, this is an ideal job. You’re in social media and there’s a lot of excitement around that. You’re actually a healthy company in social media, and most people really don’t have that... You’ve got the ability to work from anywhere which people would love, and you’re doing good things. How many companies are there out there that are actually doing things that are good for the world?"
I agree! And I feel grateful every day for the opportunity to partner up with and turn my "do gooder" impulses into a sustainable business, while working with a stellar team and inspiring clients. I believe that the fact that our hearts are in the work shows. As I told Andrew: "There are tons of web development firms out there. I think that we end up with folks that trust us to give them advice along the way and strategy around what makes sense for them to build." Check out the full interview for more on our innovative "flexible workplace" model, how building the capacity of our clients to take the reins on their own campaigns has paid off, the importance of personal networks for growing a business, and our commitment to doing great work for great clients. Business Tips via Mixergy, home of the ambitious upstart! Thanks again, Andrew, for the opportunity to share the Fission experience with Mixergy. I hope that it helps inspire some other would-be "do gooder" entrepreneurs to mix business with their personal passions.
