In and effort to prevent unplanned pregnancies and reduce the need for abortions, NARAL Pro-Choice called in Fission Strategy to create the Facebook app, “No-Cost Birth Control for Me” to showcase exactly how much money women could save if the new health-care law could provide no-cost birth control for millions of women.
This Facebook App is an interactive 3-step process that identifies the users: age, sex, and number of children they have to generate a dollar amount of how much they could save in one year if birth control became available at no-cost. This feature also allows the user to share on their Facebook page and sign the petition. More than 17,000 people have used the application to date.
NARAL Pro-Choice America protects women's rights by lobbying members of Congress and persuading elected House representatives to favor supporting causes. They make sure lawmakers hear from pro-choice people by working with state affiliates to advance ideas that are good for women's freedom and fight back against the ideas that threaten a woman's privacy.
