Using Twitter Cards For Advocacy

Posted by Sean Quinn on July 24, 2013

Twitter Cards are a relatively new form of Twitter advertising that can advertise your content beyond just the 140 words in your organization’s tweet. These cards can be used to spotlight images, stories, apps, or anything else that your organization is trying to promote.

But now users can sign a petition on Twitter with just one click using the lead generation Twitter cards. The card is now available to any client who uses Twitter Ads.

One example of this new lead generation card is from nonprofit Fix the Senate, which allowed users to sign up and encourage America’s upper house to take on the nomination of EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy:

Not only does this allow advocacy organizations to collect email addresses, but a one-click action to Sign the Petition makes it easier for nonprofits to seamlessly add users to their email list.

So at your next outreach meeting, be sure to ask: How could your organization use Twitter’s new lead generation card to generate advocacy and increase results?

And if you’re ready to start or expand your Twitter advertising effort, we can help with that. We’ve helped organizations like EarthJustice exceed their petition goal by 270% with the help of Twitter ads.
