“The resistance is legion.” – Cheryl Contee
CNN recently sat down with Fission CEO Cheryl Contee and several other prominent Californians to talk about California’s national leadership in the resistance to Trump’s policy agenda. The segment aired Jan 17, first appearing on The Lead with Jake Tapper and then again on Erin Burnett’s show and later programs. The segment also aired on New Day with Chris Cuomo and Alisyn Camerota, CNN’s flagship morning program on Jan 18.
CNN correspondent Miguel Marquez and his team visited Cheryl in her home in Northern California. She made the case that progressive policies successfully implemented in CA, now the world’s 6th largest economy, have led to a booming economy filled with the jobs of the future.
Cheryl says that it’s a fight over principles. “I think you’ll find that Californians are completely unapologetic about fighting for California values.” While Cheryl is based in CA, Fission’s team is based across diverse regions in the US and our work here is global. The segment is focused on the national impact of Californian activism among people as diverse as Hollywood executives, DREAMers and the tech community.
A fun part of the piece features Cheryl working at her bike desk in a characteristlcally California moment. Enjoy and be inspired!
